Coaching Policy

Barnes HC has invested heavily in professional coaching over time. Starting with Steve Batchelor in the early 90s.
This has provided a legacy of adult players with sound hockey principles.
More recently the Club has invested in high profile 1st X1 coaches which has brought success to the ladies with Michael Hoare. And kept the men competitive with David Foster. They have been very ably backed up by Martin Jackson,Colin Cooper and Hugh Harvey-Kelly.
Colts hockey has deliberately been kept manageable to the number of coaches available. So that quality time can be given to each child. Each age group has an experienced hockey player overseeing their development.
Barnes HC continues to punch above its weight in producing top players and team performances.
