HOUNSLOW & BARNES HOCKEY CLUB: DUKES MEADOWS REDEVELOPMENT
Having completed Phase 1 of the re-development project on our playing facility at Dukes Meadows, we now turn our attention to Phase 2.
Phase 1 involved significant foundation remedial and drainage works, re-laying of a new sand-dressed carpet and landscaping to improve the pitch surround. We are delighted with the end result and have received numerous compliments on the quality of the playing surface.
Phase 2 will complete the upgrading of our playing facility at Dukes Meadows to provide our Club with a practice area and Facility Block.
Phase 2 will comprise of three parts which, in order of priority are:
Levelling of the area at the south end of the pitch (to the left of the path leading to the pitch up to our perimeter fence to the allotments), and laying of a solid permanent base.
Building a Facility Block comprising mens’ and ladies’ toilets plus a disabled access toilet.
Laying an artificial playing surface for a 5-aside practice area to include a D and a skills park on the permanent base, together with erection of perimeter fencing.
Subject to planning permission and funding, we aim to appoint contactors in July with a view to completion of work for September 2019.
IN AN IDEAL WORLD WE WOULD COMPLETE ALL 3 PARTS OF PHASE 2 BUT IT DEPENDS ON FUNDING!
Hence our ASK:
We are looking for capital funding to supplement the committed funds (c£55,000) already raised.
An incremental £25,000 is our minimum to achieve parts 1 and 2, the levelling groundswork and Facility Block this year with completion of part 3 by September 2020.
An incremental £65,000 will allow us to complete all 3 parts of Phase 2 including the laying of the artificial playing surface on the permanent base and installation of the perimeter fencing.
